I bought a Traeger Silverton Grill on May 12th 2018 I brought it home and put it together the first time I tried to use it it does not work properly when you put it on smoke mode it is only supposed to get as hot as 200 degrees but this one on smoke mode gets as hot as 389 degrees I called traeger's customer service and their response to me was they would send me the part that they thought wasn't working correctly and I was to put it on myself I would not have a problem with this if the grill wasn't brand new I have spent countless of hours on the phone with the customer representative Department getting nowhere I feel like a fool for believing their info commercials and the sales representative who sold me the grill after reading the reviews there are countless of negative reviews about the Traeger grill I am trying to keep someone else from going through the hassles and problems that I have please do not buy a Traeger grill!!!!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

I agree! I've had nothing but trouble with my Traeger Grill from the day I bought it.

Started on fire every time I've used it. Their customer service sucks. It's not my job to do repair work on it every time I want to use it.

Very unhappy customer. I wouldn't buy another or recommend to anyone to buy a Traeger Grill

I picked up a Silverton at Costco last year. I have had no problems with it from day one.

We love the grill. I have a friend who got one and has complained about it from the start. I have now found out he never read the instructions on how to operate it and he was not cleaning it.

I told him I clean mine every time I use it. Maybe people need to read instructions first they may eliminate most of their problems at the start.

I am on my 2nd Silverton. First one got home from Costco to find the body of the grill so badly bent you could not attach the side panels to it but there was 0 damage to the box which tells me it left their facility like that.

It cooks well and holds temp great BUT wheeling it maybe 10 feet from my garage to driveway on flat concrete and two of the wheels snapped off, this is after having it for 2 months and using it maybe 15 times! On top of that the grease drip tray was completely warped about a month in of very moderate use.

To make things worse I called and was told both parts are back ordered until September. This means they don't know how to manage inventory or have so many of these going back they can't keep supplies in stock.

I have the same exact issue on my Silverton, which I purchased from Costco in March. On the smoke setting, it consistently runs at 250, hotter at the 180 setting. But at the 225 setting, it runs at 225.

Guest

I just returned a Silverton model for the same reason. It always runs too hot.

I bought a Silverton at the Costco during the Traeger event. Never worked right out the box, the lowest temp it would run was 250.

After wasting hours on the phone with the customer service people and being sent the wrong part I am taking it back.

I would not recommend them at all. Will try another brand for half price.

I recently bought a Silverton from Costco. Does not work out of the box.

Goes up to 280 degrees on the smoke mode. Called customer service and getting the run around. $750.00 and no service available.

Wish I would have read the comments before buying it. Going to take back to Costco to get my money back.

The fire goes out after a couple of hours of smoking regardless of temperature and the smoke temperature should not get above 180, well mine goes to about 230. Good luck with customer service, they are clueless! I am now going back to the store where I bought it and let them know as well.

I'm with You save your money. After 90 days the controller went out.

Repeated calls and emails have gone unaswered for days. Worse customer service I've ever experience.

Costco said bring it back to them and they'll take care of it and Treager. Unfortuantly, I'm out the time and labor to pick up up the junk and put ot toghether only to have to take it back bacause Treager can't even send me a $100 replacement board on a $1200 grill.

Maybe learn how to operate the grill before leaving a negative review. The smoke setting does not keep track of tempature.

Itโ€™s not as simple as set the temp and start grilling. There are steps that YOU need to take so it operates correctly.

You set the grill to 180 and it holds at 250. The silverton model is garbage.

I bought a Treager Silvertron at CostCo this August. I also had trouble with the controller and thermostat.

They sent me the new controller and thermostat. It took two weeks to get it but overall I was happy with the customer service.

Grill has worked perfectly since I installed the new parts. I would recommend Treager to anyone looking for a pellet grill.

it was a small glitch that could easily be fixed

I just got the same grill and have used it every day since getting it with no problems at all. I love it.

I bought my Traeger (Silverton) On July 28. No problems at all.

It will run a little hotter if it is hot outside. l 10 degrees Maybe

Guest

I bought the Silverton from Costco also. It worked perfectly out of the box.

I checked the temperature accuracy and it was plus or minus 10 degrees. Try to get that from your oven in the house. No problems so far.

This is my second Traeger and with a 3 year warranty I've found them to be very helpful in resolving any issues, on my first Traeger that is. This one, perfect.

how long did you leave the lid open when starting it? if you don't leave it open for at least 15 mins when you wanna smoke the temp is going to be higher. you have to let the startup wood burn off before getting it back down to smoking temp

This model states to start with lid closed after you have completed initial startup/auger priming. Instructions do not follow their pro series models.

I just bought a Silverton also after cooking for the last 8 years on a Lil Tex Elite. We put it together, a little bit of a challenge but it went together well.

We fired it up and it's working perfectly. I'm into my second cook and it holds temp plus or minus 15 degrees.

Smoke temp holds at about 160. It's a bummer you got a lemon but with a 3 year warranty Traeger will make it right.
